What do you mean they can't reach the buddy belt? Couldn't they reach behind their front legs?
Where do I find her site? As for leather leashes- are they the strongest? They have these indestructable leashes but I am not so sure if they're worth it. I just want a leash I don't have to replace. Sasha's destroyed her own leash once or twice. It's kind of a pain to go and get them on the spot. That and I've had those cheap leashes eventually snap on me. Though on their defense, we've had the leashes cleaned every few days by washing it with warm water and soap. (we like to keep things clean, and neat as possible). |
I have an old leather Buddy Belt that my previous dog used her entire life (that's still in perfect condition) for Scottie. And Casie currently is using the BB2 Buddy Belt (the less expensive version); I'm finding that it's equally just as durable. The harness basically loops around their feet and is buckled in on their shoulder. I'm not sure how a dog could turn to get at it on their back (though I suppose Yorkies always surprise us lol). If your does...I'd just work on training them not to. You have to eventually train them that no means no.
I like my leather leashes because it's soft on my hand and it's durable. You wouldn't have to replace it unless your little one chews it up. Leather definitely won't snap on you. I like things clean too - but the leash I rarely clean. I don't let them roam around with the leash dragging on the floor, so it's relatively clean. I bought this leather soap for it, called Saddle Soap, for whenever I feel like cleaning it.
