The crate or play pen is much safer for her until she is potty train and won't get into stuff. You have to let them cry it out. With all my pups i would take them potty then put them to bed if they woke up crying I would take them potty the. Put them back. They get used to it and generally will not make them selves sick. They need to be used to a crate incase they stay at the vet or groomer.
