Default Collapsing Trachea

I currently have her on Hycodan or Tussigon which is the generic (boy does it make her feel good, almost like a puppy again) but only has helped her cough by about 50%. I am only giving it to her twice a day, it is a narcotic so at first she is a little loopy. Then I have cough tabs that my vet gave me. Some days I used them alternating and some days if she is going to go for a walk, I use the Hycodan 2-3 times that day. I lost one last month and it is a miserable death and very heartbreaking because I simply did not know how serious this was. I get my prescription from Walmart and it is a liquid so it's not so hard on her swallowing a pill. The prescription is $4 and it lasts about 2 weeks. You also really need to try to keep your baby calm. Mine only coughs when she gets excited. Everything I have read said that it really has more to do with controlling the behavior and the meds are secondary.
