Anapreze and Lovetodream88, I am in no way offended. Both of your responses to me were given and taken in good spirit and appreciated. The number one outcome for our family is two social doll babies that we love very much. They brought energy and life back to our 8 yr old AKC Yorkie, who had been grieving for months for her best friend, our 17 yr old CKC Yorkie, who passed away in Oct. 2016. We wanted a puppy for her as a young playmate. We came home with 2 puppies, just couldn't separate them as they were the last 2 in the litter.

Pedigreed AKC puppies set the standard by which we judge a breed. If I planned to show or breed, I would only purchase an AKC show quality puppy. My reason for posting a response was curiosity related to info I found about the original Yorkie, "red legged" or "wiry hair". They do not meet today's breed standard...a larger dog with a long snout and a wiry, textured, short, deep black and red coat that does not change colors. And the fact that these original characteristics can show up in a litter of AKC, CKC, etc. breed standard Yorkie parents. I also read that breeders sometime introduce the red legged Yorkie to their line to strengthen the line's coat texture and colors. However, that should be the only time these red legged Yorkies should be bred. Like the author of this thread, MoYra, I would love to communicate with other members that have or know about red legged or wiry pure bread Yorkies. What I do know, our puppies, at this 8 month stage do not follow the breed standard and do not look like their conforming breed standard parents, yet have a quality overall look. Thank you for your comments, I truly would like to learn more!
