I woke up a few days ago to Luna unresponsive and labored breathing, she was somewhat limp. I took her straight away to the doctor and they said she had hypoglycemia, they fed her and sent her home. When we got home, she was doing great, walking around, etc.. then.. she started vomiting, she vomited 10 times and I got scared and took her back to the vet again, and he gave me the Nutri-Cal and told me to give it to her every 15-30 mins until she starts eating on her own again. Well I did that but it seemed she wasn't getting any better, so again back to the vet and they kept her overnight.. When I got her back she was doing great, and she's been great for the last few days.

Yesterday she was a little lethargic, but still her spunky self. Last night I went to bed around 1am, and she was fine. I put her in her crate with her food and water like the vet told me to do, which I've been doing every night.

This morning I woke up at 7, I was only asleep for 6 hours. And Luna was limp in her cage, she was unresponsive, cold, and she was twitching like she was having a seizure, there was vomit all over her and in her cage, and she couldn't even lift her head. I panicked, I put her on a heating pad, and started putting the nurti cal and maple syrup in her mouth with a dropper, at first she just spit it back out, but then finally I got her to swallow... she was barely breathing, and I thought for sure she was going to die. After I did this, I rushed her to the closet vet that was open.. by time I got to the vet she perked up and was able to lift her head... and now she seems like nothing even happened.... she's walking around even running and playing..

I don't understand.. I thought for sure I was about to lose her and now she's fine..
Is there something I am doing wrong? has anyone else experienced this???
I'm so stressed out and scared that one day ill wake up and she will be in her crate dead!!
Despite chewie's many tummy issues, with the low blood sugar, we've been so blessed. However, the nutri-cal paste was just okay, but dr miller pet drops were.. I can just tell you, they were fantastic, and I'm convinced they stopped any hypo issues she might have had. I'm serious about this, given just how many times we've dealt with gastroenteritis. One gastro bout we had made my unflappable husband terrified, and those drops were the ONLY things that got her to take any nutrients down.. and helped keep her meds down as a result.

*If you're a heavy sleeper, please consider taking the crate into your room, and turning off anything that would keep you from hearing. We've had Chewie in our bedroom since she was 7 months old. She stopped sleeping in the crate a month ago, minus the day we have her in there to keep her used to it. My husband is a deep sleeper, and I would be upstairs until very late. I recall an incident that was only 1 of two times she had an accident in her crate. both poop and vomit. she screamed. I had my headphones on and heard, but it was so brief I thought it was part of my video game noise. the next morning I found vomit every where, interspersed with extremely loose B.M.

she hasn't had an incident since, as I will be very certain to jump on ANY noise I hear. They don't like doing this in their cage, so you'll get a warning. Please make sure you can hear everything.
