Our dog we did a schedule but now she doesn't even need a schedule, is this just a thing my dog does or do dogs end up getting lax on it?

I just make sure to take her out every 2-4 hours.
The OP wants advise on retraining their puppy to potty outdoors, I gave my personal experience in raising 8 puppies. Schedules WORK. If you are a stay at home person and your dog is 100% outdoor trained , and your dog has reached adulthood, with some dogs they will let you know when they need to go potty. If a person is consistent, in feeding and potty time, the dog will wait to be let out or walked to potty. Example...I lived in NY, was a tenant and walked my dogs at 7:30AM went to work came home at 4:30AM the dogs were walked again. My dogs were 13 and 5 yo when I bought a house in Pa.no more need to walk dogs, I had a dog run and a doggie door built and was home all day, the schedule went out the window, the dogs went out to potty when they wanted to. However, when I had to be out of the house, the dogs waited until I came home to be let out to potty. It was my choice to do away with the walk schedule.
