They prescribe nexguard (I think that's what it's called, it does fleas/ticks) verus the trifexis doing fleas/heartworm. I haven't gone with it yet though.

Would this be safe to switch the 1 year old over to? I'm going to call and make an appointment for the new pup tomorrow.

Or if there is any other flea meds ya'll could recommend? All I know is buying the flea meds from the actual vet ends up being way more expensive than ordering so i'm trying to make the transition to ordering it, I just don't know which is the right one.

That freaks me out that you say it's deadly, my vet seemed to think this was the best thing for him, but obviously i'm not going back to that vet anyway. They're really nice, but the quality of the place just doesn't seem up to par with what I want for my dogs. The new place i'm going was voted best clinic in town.
I honestly am not sure why they still sell it there are so many deaths and sicknesses related to it I feel it should be pulled. I use nexguard and have had no issues with it and have given it for two years. I also just do heartguard for heartworms it's been around forever.
