Thanks for the input. I agree with the corn in Royal Canin. This is just an interm solution until the breeder's vet does the diagnostics. I think there is something to be said about the level of protein in Acana. While it's a fantastic product and I really like the variety ...maybe for my pups genetic makeup it's not suitable.
In general the vet said the protein level should be lower than 28%.
It could be my dogs liver function which is now being looked at by ultrasound as I type. As to how much I feed..he's almost at a cup when factoring in a treat or 2. I followed the guide and was sure to feed 3 times a day.
