Default Bad advice = Hypoglycemia

Hi there

Just wanted to share my bad experience today.

I followed some bad advice from a pet store clerk and that of many opinions from the Internet

For the past few months I've been feeding my less than a year pup all life stages Acana dry food. I chose this because I was told a dog could develop allergies if eating the same thing and Acana offered a variety of dry food. For reasons I can't explain I was also told he didnt need the puppy formula.

As a result my Nemo became Hypoglycemic and lost some weight (pups should gain not lose). I could not tell anything was wrong because his behavior was fine and his poops didn't indicate anything.

I've since switched to Royal Canin and I'm working with my vet and breeder to be sure there are no other health issues. ...though I'm 100% sure it's the diet.

I'm just putting this out there as a cautionary tale of whom to listen to.

I know there is debate about food but I'm now weary of the Holistic approach /brand for Yorkies. Ì mean evolutionary speaking. .they ate Rats!
