Very similar story to mine. I lost my boy last April to severe collapsed trachea that was also miss diagnosed due to him being so young. He was only 3. We can't beat ourselves up over the misdiagnosis. We did what we were supposed to do, get them checked by the vet and the treatment that was given the first time worked. How would we know it could happen again? It's an important lesson I learned that I will find a vet that is familiar with the breed and also the symptoms and treatments for collapsed trachea. Some vets don't realize that it is a progressive disease and that each episode is causing permanent damage. We trusted the vets and it was a costly price to pay in heartache for sure. I'm so very sorry for your loss. It's awful to see them gasping for air and not getting any. I know what you are going through but plz put those thought out of your mind. You could not have known it would happen again.
