My daughter took her pup to the vet with a coughing, hacking sound after she got him on sat. Diagnosed with kennel cough. Given antibiotics.
My pup had been doing the same thing every 3-4 hrs. I thought maybe a cold but realized that the new pup (Gremlin) sounded the same as Gypsy. I have an appt on Tuesday, but she started it more frequently last night so I to her to the ER this morning and was also dx with kennel cough. Sd not fatal but given antibiotics and cough suppresant.
Both pups act like nothing is wrong except for the coughing like a hairball thing. Vet said usu kennel cough they act pretty normal, it is when it progresses to pneumonia that they act sick.
