Sounds like he will be one spoiled little boy. It's hard to say if he will cry or not. I got all my puppies when they were 8 weeks old, I worked all day, my puppies were alone for 9 hours in a confined area with all that they needed, they did not cry. I lived in a pvt. house with the landlady living downstairs, I had the apt. above her. If the puppy cried she would have heard her and would have told me. Don't worry about it, you will be gone only a few hours, and when you get back home DO NOT make a BIG fuss over him. Act the same way as when you were home all day with him. You do not want to cause any separation anxiety by making a big fuss over him when ever you leave him alone.
