I agree that a discussion of food with the vet would be a good idea.
I did mention that I feed Prescription food to my boy with GI issues, and that has to be prescribed by a vet. Certainly a lower fat diet would probably be good for a heart condition as well as a GI issue. Most general dog foods are high fat.
By the way. I got a weird email from an unknown address last night for a forwarded post on this site. I did not get the post from Maximo in an email. Did anyone else get such a strange forwarded reply to a post on YT?
