Simply stop walking with any pull you feel, stand and wait until the dog stops pulling before you start moving forward again.
Eventually, doggie gets the idea that to move forward and get anywhere, he must walk without pulling on the lead or he'll spend the afternoon tugging without going actually getting anywhere. It only requires patience and any lead/collar combination you'd like. Head leads work wonderfully for those without patience enough to wait until their dog learns not to pull.
