Why not?? I have a 2 year old yorkie that is strictly and indoor dog and pad trained also. I live in an apartment without the freedom to let him out whenever he has to go. I do take him on a daily walk but that is not enough. Some of us dont have back yards or space to let them out to do their business. Pad training isnt a bad thing.
Sorry if my question came across as patronising or anything. I just think that once a dog is trained outside, it will remember that outside is strictly the place to do business. I feel like training mats could confuse them. (At least it confused my dog when I first started training her as a puppy) and I've heard from many people that a dog should pee/poop outside at all times given.
But yes, now that you mention the apartment aspect, I understand, I've always wondered how dogs in apartments have the opportunity to go out regularly esp when they are puppies and they cannot hold it as long.
