Default Yorkie health

Hi everyone. I am a first time yorkie owner (chocolate yorkie), he is 3 months old but when he was about seven weeks old I discovered that he has an extra toe on the side of his right backleg. I did some research and learned that it is called a dew claw. This one has no bone inside and it seems like the toe itself is not growing bigger, but the nail does.

My puppy is having his first shave in about two weeks time and I am worried that the toe will cause trouble like being cut or later the nail will hurt him. Has anyone ever dealt with this before? I could really use some advise about how to handle it and if i should take to the vet. Any advise would be helpful...
