Breeding dogs is not that simple. First of all, not every dog is worthy of being bred. If the dog is not a solid representation of the breed and clear of possibly debilitating genetic diseases, then it should not even be a question. Then there is the fact that dogs have more than one puppy often, do you have homes lined up for all of Them? There could be anywhere from 1 to 5+ puppies who will need shots, wormings, tails docked, supervision, socialization, the list goes on.

The reason why the vet is pushing you to get the dog fixed is because you are not a breeder and the reasons you have stated as to why you want to breed your dog are kind of the reason why there are shelters full of dogs with no homes, being put down every day. Please reconsider going down this road and just adopt or buy another dog if you feel your dog needs a "playmate" And please go ahead and make sure they are both spayed/neutered. Trust me, you don't want you how down this road and no offence but the fact that you even have to ask these questions proves you are no where near ready to take on this responsibility.
