I'm quite certain the research that has been done says that most dogs tend to do better with hand signals. I train for both a verbal and a physical cue. Except with my eldest dog who I only taught with verbal cues. I regretted that because when he went deaf he could obviously no longer get the cues, and he knew how to do so much stuff and I was really hoping when I got my other dogs that they could learn from him and imitate him. So definitely train for both types of cues. Anyways, I do notice that my dogs tend to do better with hand signals. |
