Potty Training Using a Crate So I am about to welcome our baby to our home, and I am getting my supplies and methods ready.
I want to use the crate method to potty train her. Because I need to keep her confined while I am at work, so she can't get into trouble, my idea is put a small carrier crate with her pee-pads inside it, in a playpen. The playpen is 3 feet x 3 feet. I will put her bed and some toys inside the playpen, and make sure that I block off any floor space, to avoid her going potty where she isn't supposed to. In one corner I will put a plastic placemat, with her food and water on.
Do you think this will be suitable for her while I am at work. She is teeny tiny, and only weights 1lb. I do have 2 other adult yorkies who will stay in the same room as her, but outside of the playpen, so she will have company.
I didn't use the crate method for my other two babies, and bitterly regret it, as they are 13 and 12 years, and not properly housetrained.
I want to make sure that this time, I do it right, so I would be very grateful for any advice from you. |
