Hello Diane, I wanted to give an update on Mia
She actually as been doing really well I think it is her diet that is agreeing with her.
Of course the vet did not want me to change her diet they wanted to keep her on the can food and kibble but she was doing terrible. I took her back to get her blood work done a week ago and her protein went from 1.5 the week before to 2.1 I was so excited..
She is getting back to her old happy cranky self lol....
My vet wants to get her off the prednisone ASAP so I talked to him on Thursday and he thought I should cut her back to 1/4 tablet morning and evening, yesterday day was her first full day on the lower dosage she seemed fine but she had a really soft poop in the night so I am worried again....maybe I should have left her a bit longer....I will give her today to see how it goes and if she still as soft poop I will contact him again...he said her dose is so high it really worries him he wants her off....he did say something about maybe trying dexametasone instead of pred...Mia use to be on a really low dose of dex for skin issues. She was really itchy all the time since she was 6 months old.
