I also leave both of mine at home for 8 hours. Though, they had mid-day potty breaks during their first year home while they were being potty trained. And then once they were home alone the first time for 8 hours, I also used a monitoring app to make sure they were okay.

Neither of them have separation anxiety thankfully. When I first got them, I would leave them treat dispensing toys so they would make the connection that me leaving equated to fun-yummy-treat toy.

If your Bella is over a year old, maybe you could get a dog walker for midday walks to transition to a full 8 hour day as well? And also set up a monitoring app? I don't know many who are so lucky to work from home, so if there's a will, there's a way.
