I have found that most of the harsh remarks are between people who have a history that we don't know about. Rarely are any of them directed at newcomers. But when you take a stand on anything, be prepared to have someone challenge it.
If the challenges are meaning and informing, it is a good thing, then we all learn. If they are harsh and insulting then no one learns anything except to steer clear of that member. |
