Cody is stingy with kisses also, I believe it is training from prev. owner, just like Cody snuggling in bed at night with me. It took 10 months of pulling him close to me, to let him know it's ok to snuggle, NOW, he's the first one to get under the blankets to cuddle lol. I don't think Cody was allowed to kiss his prev.owner. He is getting a wee bit better at letting me smooch his face lol. You only have Mr Pooch a month, you cannot undo in a few months what a dog was taught for years NOT to do, always encourage from him what you want him to do. My girls were horrific kissers, Cody may never be one, I am THRILLED when I get 3 sweet lil licks on my hand lol I praise him like crazy tell him kissy kiss the momma to let him know it's ok to kiss me. Lots of patience is needed with shy rescues. Will Mr Pooch ever get over his fear of dogs, that's hard to say, it's something you have to work on with small gentle dogs. Because my rescue was NOT socialized with dogs I have a NOT dog friendly little guy, and to ME, that is a serious issue. Try taking him to pet shops like Pet Supplies, PetCo, Pet Smart, where there are other dogs trickling in, I suggest a week day where there are not many dogs coming in, you don't want Mr Pooch to get over whelmed with to many dogs in a confined area, I put Cody in the baby seat of a shopping cart and PRAY no one walks down the aisle with a BIG lab lol. Mr Pooch may never have been walked, could be the reason why birds scare him. This is a new WORLD to him. Don't worry about birds and squirrels, give this boy time to adjust to everything. Show him love and kindness which I know that you are, change does NOT come overnight. And YES lol, it's normal for these lil yorkies to take one tiny piece of kibble into another room and eat it, then come back for another tiny kibble and do it again lol,all 4 of my girls did that and so does Cody lol. Lots of patience is needed with this little guy, he needs to learn YOUR way of life and that will take time.
