Honestly, I would not stop the behavior - is it hurting anything or anyone or him...? 2 of my boys have a "stuffed lover dog" who they take on "dates". And that's just fine; they're not hurting anything and they clearly have some sort of need/instinct they want to act on.
My girl dog, Pfeiffer, humps her donut bed almost every morning. *Shrugs* - I don't care. She likes to do that, and again, it's not hurting anyone or anything.
I honestly never understand why people are so very concerned in repressing a
*natural* desire in animals. It's not like they're humping people's legs. In the 12 years I've had my current dogs, never once has an attempt been made to hump a human.
So my opinion, obviously, is to leave it be.
