If it's a simply doorbell or just a knock (on tv), I quickly tell Piper that, It's just the tv; it's on tv.and she'll settle quickly...However, if I'm not quick with the mute and there are several knocks in quick succession, she goes so nuts barking and whipping back and forth from door to me, I can't make myself heard! Actually, I think she just waits for the television to give her the opportunity to be a big bad barking guard dog for a few minutes!
