Yorkies do not have an undercoat. They have fine hair. The wiry baby hair will grow out, Undercoat is from mix breeding. He will go through many hair changes. When he get his first grooming most of that wiry baby hair will be cut off, you will see then what his hair texture "may" be. It will be interesting to see what the final results will be lol.
