Yes, it will work. I have this same setup for my now 1 yr old Gidget. At first, I took her to the bathroom first thing in the morning and then several times a day. She soon started coming to me and letting me know she needed to pee and I would take her to the little bathroom. It took a couple of weeks but now she goes in when she needs to go even if I'm not in the room with her. She still stays in the puppy apartment when I need to leave the house. She will do her poopy in the morning when I put her in upon waking but she still hasn't gotten the hang of going in on her own to poopy. But at least it's easier to clean up than the pee. She'll get the hang of it one day. In the meantime, I'm just being patient with her.
