About growing, my little girl Maezie, between 11-12 months of age, got taller, leaner, and just bigger overall. It was a growth spurt and a pretty late one at that. She ended up 5.4 lbs despite charting 3.5 lbs throughout most of the first year. So it is possible to get some growth right around the one year mark. I think that was a bit unusual though. I'm extremely happy about it though.
I don't have to worry about her being so fragile anymore. Well, I still worry but not as much.
