Max has had this issue for quite some time also in his left eye only. When we went to the vet a couple of week ago they gave me some antibiotic eye drops. They said it could be bacterial. I have given him one drop twice a day and it has helped. I did this for 2 weeks and stopped a few days ago. I'll monitor the eye to see if it acts up again. So far so good.
