I would not breed either of mine. I have a female yorkie whom is my baby and the risk and dangers associated with breeding and not having her spayed are something I don't even want to think about. I have been a member of several toy dog forums over the past few years and have seen several people suffer the loss of a beloved pet because of their desire to have puppies. I have also known a couple that have lost unspayed females due to Pyometra. As far as my male maltese goes I don't want to deal with marking or possibly any temperament problems either of them might develop due to breeding, not to mention all the other health problems that could arise. But if anyone does plan on breeding I would encourage them to seek out an experienced mentor to guide them thru. It's just not a risk I care to take...too much at stake for my comfort zone.
