Hi and welcome .

Looks like pyoderma to me - which is an overgrowth of staph intermedius on dogs. For localized infections (in one area; often called "hot spots"), Mupirocin ointment (requires vet prescription) may get rid of it. For systemic/wider-spread infections, the gold standard for treatment is Simplicef x 30 days.

Just as important, though, is trying to figure out *why* this infection has occurred in the first place - bc skin infections are always secondary to something else.

Does your kiddo have allergies? Is he itching part of the year or all year...?
