Hi. I'm new to the group. I have a 3 yr old Yorkie that has such a personality and we love him and have spoiled him rotten. We just got a new mini schnauzer puppy for our daughter and new it would take time but Calvin hates the new puppy and is afraid of her. We thought he would be the aggressor especially because the puppy is very gentle and submissive but he is terrified of her. She runs at him wanting to play and it's completely traumatized him. We are keeping them separate unless we are supervising and he will only come close to her if we are holding her. I know it's going to take time but does anyone think we can encourage him to not be afraid and going a step further, even be dominant? She will back down to him easily but he's laying his ears back and running away.
