and a virtual hug.

Welcome to YT, Lucy at 10 months old is STILL a puppy if you get this other baby. She may be jealous of other dogs on the outside, once the new baby comes home and Lucy sees this kid is here to stay, Lucy will not be with the new baby as she is with those other dogs. She will accept a new puppy faster then an older dog because she is still a puppy her self, they will be BFF fast. If you are not planning on breeding you should get Lucy spayed now and the male neutered when your vet tells you the proper time. At 8 months old if you had no plans of breeding, Lucy should have been spayed 2 months ago before her first heat. Not spaying a female that you are not going to breed is very dangerous to her. Aside from getting mammary tumors there is also Pyometra to be concerned about, that can be fatal. I lost two girls to Pyometra because I didn't have them spayed and I was not planning on breeding them. I would never want anyone to see their babies die before their eyes as I did.
