Default Vestibular Syndrome?

Baxter the last couple of days just wasn't "himself" - but I did not see anything that was overly alarming - but enough where I was watching him closely. Yesterday he didn't want to eat or drink and I began to fear he was starting his yearly pancreatitis episode which he seems to have - which we have dealt with and know what to watch for etc.

This morning I woke up to a dog that looked completed "drugged". Head swaying, couldn't walk, falling over. After my having a near heart attack I did collect myself and got him to our vet right away - I didn't even call first.

The vet said possible Vestibular Syndrome. I asked if this could be in anyway connected to having his rabies shot last Wednesday. She said she would call the company of the rabies shot and report the symptoms and see what they say.

Anyway - Here I know sit at my kitchen table all alone and in tears. They kept my Baxter to run some tests and put him on an iv as he is was a bit hypoglycemic and dehydrated. I know he is missing me terribly and scared and probably ticked off at me for leaving him.

- Baxter is 6 year old solid 10 pound bundle of love.

Anyone have any advice or experiences on this?
