a catarac is almost a light blue /white haze over the eye. you can see when a dog is looking away from you, its almost like a hazey film. i had two golden retrivers with cataracs and they lived 14 + years with them. supposely thay cannot see as well, but my pups can definitley compinsate with their noses.
