She is not quite a baby (she's 9 months) and already house and crate trained by the time she came to me. In the last few days I have been reading up on Yorkies a TON (which I also did before buying her). I've already read the puppy guide on this website as well as many others, but I'll admit I'm a little overwhelmed by all the info out there!
So as I continue to research, I just wanted to ask you lovely yorkie people: what advice do you think is crucial to a new yorkie owner? |
If your parents are new to pet ownership, be sure to know the numbers and locations of emergency vets in your area. I have my emergency vets on my refrigerator and in my cell phone as well as the poison hotline number (These little guys are like vacuum cleaners) . I've had to rush my yorkies to the emergency vets a 2:00 am in the morning.
While we hope for the best, it's always best to prepare for the worst. Congrats on the little one........
