I'm not part of the "we" you're referring to - and never have been. I don't blindly trust *any* group such as this...whether the AMA, AVMA, AAHA, FDA, USDA....you name it. They have reasons for putting out this kind of information and those reasons are not always what they seem. Groups such as these often have motivations that aren't in the best interests of the population they are actually meant to serve....so always have your eyes open . Unfortunate, but true. For example, does the USDA protect the puppy mill dogs that it's supposed to.....um, no...no, not at all. Is the FDA really for us, or is it more geared towards Big Ag.....? Be careful of believing in / trusting organizations that have or want political power and/or have lobbyist functions. I hate being this cynical, but that's the world we live in right now, unforch.

Also as far as the bones go, RAW chicken or any other bones are fine as they are soft and/or rubbery it's only COOKED bones that you need to worry about as they are hard, brittle and splintery. The BARF diet is meant to duplicate their natural diet as is in the wild & wolves eat the WHOLE kill starting with the intestines & organs & the uncooked bone marrow is VERY Healthy for them. In fact if you don't wish to feed the BARF diet , you can break or cut up the raw bones & soak them in water in the fridge for a couple of days then boil them in that water & give your pups the water from the boiled bones that now contains the marrow. Definitely not as healthy as the RAW but still good for them & they Love it.
