I agree with maxio and lisaly the price of the puppy from show quality breeder is about the going price in the N.E. I also know the difficulty of finding a reputable breeder and not wanting to let them go and start over looking for a trusted breeder. I understand your concern, something may have gone wrong with the litter, and that would be devastating, but this breeder could have given you some indication of that and not just brush you off with a rude answer. I also understand your concern of how long to wait before contacting her again. I can only say what I WOULD DO and that would be to wait one week after the text message response "I don't want to talk about it." I feel for a breeder that "may" have gone through losing a litter in the past, a week is enough time to digest losing a litter if in fact that is what happened. I would not wait until Jan. but that is just ME.
