My now passed 17 pound girl had thin hair, long legs, her hair never grew to floor length. The longest it grew was to her front legs knees. No puppy cut for her due to the long legs, it would not have been very attractive and she was a beautiful girl. Her hair never matted so I just left it the length it would grow. Just my experience with BIG yorkie and hair length.
