stomach very hard Hello All,
I have 3 dogs, 2 yorkies and 1 maltese. I came to this forum about my maltese issue is because i can't find another maltese forum. Hope ya'll won't mind.
My 10 years old maltese always had stomach problems. Maybe once a month, but it was not serious. Usually when that happens she just have no appetite, no energy, stomach growls and pass a lot gas for a few hours to a day, and her stomach always feels very hard when that happens, we all thought its acid reflux problems. But this time, things are little different.
Her stomach feels very hard, like rock.
(When her stomach feel very hard, we put her on her back and gently rub her belly a little bit, her back legs are very stiff)
She doesn't want us to touch her
She doesn't wanna move, wherever you put her, she will just sit there.
She passes gas and burp couple times
Drinks very little water
didn't see her poo today, pee very little.
Earlier in the morning, her back legs were weak, she falls when she walks, after she slept the whole afternoon, she can walk without falling now, and her stomach feels a tiny bit softer.
She ate when we hand fed her chicken breast cooked with brown rice and chicken broth after she slept the whole afternoon. But still don't wanna move or use bathroom. Went straight back to sleep.
I'm sorry if my descriptions are not very organized, i'm just trying to describe as detailed as possible. We are going to take her to vet tomorrow. But i wanna check if anyone here have similar experience to share. To be honest, I don't trust the vet completely.
A little background about my maltese, she is about 4 lbs, she is very small but kind of round (fat). She had some issue when she was a puppy, she wouldn't eat and pass out a lot. The vet didn't find out what happened after we went to multiple different ones. A very nice yorkie breeder taught us to force feed her baby food for a while because she had low blood sugar. After a few months of baby food, she was playful and normal.
any advices would be greatly appreciated. |
