I spoke to my local groomer about this--age to start--yesterday,as my puppy is 4 1/2 months and messy looking despite daily brushing and weekly baths.She said to start young as with most things,to get the puppy use to it.The dogs she has who fuss are those who don't start til they are older.Unfortunately she can't fit my Holly in for 2 months!
