Default Heartguard for dog with Pancreatitis/ Enteritis

Does anyone have thoughts on giving Heartguard to a dog who has been diagnosed with pancreatitis from one specialist enteritis from another? I'm changing flea treatments as the flea/heart-worm topical hasn't been effective. But now I'll need a separate heart-worm medication. My regular vet believes the Heartguard should be fine for my dog who, in June, spent 4 days in the emergency vet and got a diagnosis from one specialist pf pancreatitis and a diagnosis of enteritis from the second specialist we saw.

Needless to say either way I'm worried about giving her anything that isn't her prescription dog food. I have not talked to the specialist about this but our regular vet thinks the Heartguard should be fine... I didn't realized how big the thing is until I just picked it up & am just wondering if anyone has used this with a dog with stomach issues or has thoughts on it. Thanks so much!!!
