Congratulation on getting your yorkie. Your best bet would to to discuss this with the current owner of the puppy. At six months he should already be somewhat potty trained. Of course going to a new environment you will have to start over. You should ask his current owner about his current routine. Does he hike his leg to pee? Does he use a pee pad? Is he crated or kept in a exercise pen. Has he ever had free run of the house?

If he is use to being kenneled or in a exercise pen then it would be best to keep up that same routine until he is acclimated to his new environment. You will need to be patient with him because it will be a whole new experience for him.
