I personally believe in breeder's choice. I love the look of a tail docked to medium length, but I've had Yorkies from the time I was in my late teens. Despite that, if I personally was given a choice, I don't think I could ask for a docked tail, since I can't dismiss the issue of pain for these poor babies. Dew claw removal must be very painful. Katie has her front dewclaws I've read both sides of the argument about the degree of pain they feel having their tails docked.

Here is the stance on tail docking by the AMVA.
