Thanks.
We are going with the plan from our vet and will know in roughly two weeks if she needs the dental right away or if it can wait. Usually we would just put whatever she needs on credit card and figure out how to pay it eventually but it's been a rough few months with vet bills, so our vet is trying to give us some time.
She spent 3 days at an emergency vet in August and that bill was very high and then starting in September we racked up even more debt with a sick cat that we ended up having to have put to sleep after 6 weeks of failed treatments.
Just don't want it to seem like we are trying to let her suffer. Our vet is okay with waiting unless she stops eating all together but to clarify, she will be getting the dental of the ulcer doesn't heal or she still is trouble in a couple of weeks.
We think she broke her teeth and bit her tongue when one of our cats tried playing with her and bit where her rabies shot was giving. Sophie flipped out and he next day was anti-kibble. The vet is hoping the ulcer is an injury from biting the tongue as opposed to rubbing against the broken tooth.
Just wanted to make sure it didn't seem like we weren't going to do it if she doesn't improve! Right now she is just eating her usual kibble soaked in water and for now she seems happy (aside for her hatred for the meds lol) |
