In the absence of other symptoms, I don't know if I would be terribly concerned.
BUT, why was he dehydrated when he went to the vet? Had he been sick? How was his blood work?

Syringing liquids really doesn't do much for dehydration. Usually if they are eating and drinking they get enough. When ill and dehydrated, subcutaneous fluids or IVs are needed.

Sounds like he is doing better..hope that continues.
