Default Ideas for a dog breed

My good friend lost her penny who was a wheaten terrior. She is not ready yet to receive another animal into her heart and life.

I want to ask folks ideas about breed type. Debs is 69yrs old and this might be considered in your decision.
Relatively healthy as well but feels that she is slowing down.

She nixed the havanese and I don.t think our yorkie breed is right for her.

Anybody owned a toy poodle? The medium sized one. I think ideally would be a breed that is low maintenance and gets by with a couple of walks a day.

She worries about the long waiting list for rescues and if she would even qualify. By the way lives in a house large fenced in backyard and an excellent vet record.

We do not have any dog over population in Tor, but Montreal a different story.
