Yup, some good advice on here. Start with short grooming sessions if you can, when lilah used to be more challenging with grooming when she was younger I think I was actually being too rough (not on purpose obviously but I wanted her to be healthy and clean and I think I moved way to fast with my goals vs her level of tolerance) and using a soft bristle boar brush sure helped her get used to being willing to be groomed. It meant we were snuggling and the brushing was quite like petting. The pin brush we use now is madan and it is much better than the brushes with pins that have ball or flat tips on them and catch the hair while brushing. I would take it slow and remember that the big goal is to enjoy/tolerate grooming and even cutting a couple of nails or brushing for five minutes is a great success to start with- good luck!
