We have always been told male dogs do not need pain meds after surgery.

We have always told the vet no pain meds, no surgery; non-negotiable. Amazingly, we have always left with pain meds.

There is no way I want a doc to cut me open and remove organs from me and tell me no pain meds, so there is no way I will tolerate that for my pups.

It is not like we are talking morphine here; they only prescribe a small amount of low dose tramadol.

Unless Max is predisposed to blood clots, Aspirin should not be taken before or immediately after surgery. It is a blood thinner and dramatically increases the likelihood of internal bleeding post-op. We had one of furry buddies undergo a simple neutered (no undicended testicles) and he bleed so much internally a six-seven inch diameter circle on his belly was bright purple....and that was without aspirin use.
