Max has had several scratches and corneal ulcers. I agree with Ann, keep giving the medication/applying the ointment as directed by your vet. Usually it is 1 week, or about 10 days.
The vet should also do a follow up in 1 week, stain the eye again, to make sure the scratch is healed.
Cool, fresh air also helped Max's eye heal. Warm weather and any heat source aggravated it.
Make sure your little guy isn't rubbing his eye. Max had to wear a cone sometimes.
